If you have 20 authority, you will always have that 20 authority. Corrupting it to 15 still means your authority is 20, it's just corrupted up to 15. The very first corrupted perk in any attritibute is based on how corrupted that attribute is, but that is the only instance where the actual corruption value matters.The corruption allows you to have some really neat boons to your strength, vitality, and authority (But not the others ). I don't play Strength builds so i cannot comment on if these boons are worth it to be fully corrupted (50% less HP & stamina is a lot, imo).
